Curtis Collazos of Cal State San Marcos has been selected as the Pixellot/CCAA Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 9-15.

Collazos, who missed his first start this season, came off the bench in the second half to score twice within a 10-minute span in the Cougars’ 5-1 rout over San Francisco State on Sunday. It was his second brace of the season to account for his four goals for the year.

The junior midfielder from Culver City entered the match in the 70th minute and promptly scored his first goal just 94 seconds on the pitch. The goal made it a comfortable 3-1 lead for CSUSM. Collazos would tag on a second score late in the match, in the 82nd minute for the final tally.

Collazos became the first CSUSM Cougar to win a men’s soccer player of the week award since Sept. 4, 2018 when Juan Camilo Salazar took the honor.

Cal State San Marcos, now 3-2-1 in CCAA play (6-5-2 overall), ascended to fifth place in the CCAA standings. The Cougars host Sonoma State (Friday) and Cal Poly Humboldt (Sunday) in their final home matches.
