Cal State Monterey Bay’s Amelia McManus has been named Pixellot/CCAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 2-8.
McManus had a hat trick against last year’s CCAA Champions, Sonoma State. Her three goals contributed to a 4-1 win over the Seawolves on Friday. The junior from Las Vegas, Nev., is the only Otter to have multiple goals in a game this season. She became the first Otter to record two hat tricks in a career.
Her first goal came in the 13th minute off of a freekick near the corner flag where she headed the ball back across the face of the goal. McManus scored again in the 77th minute to grow the Otter’s lead to 3-1. She found the net for the third time in the 82nd minute after positioning herself near the penalty spot to receive a pass and finish it in the far corner.
This is McManus’s second career CCAA Player of the Week award. This is the first Player of the Week award for the Otters since 2022, which was McManus’s first time receiving the award.
Cal State Monterey Bay’s (2-4-4) next match is against Cal State San Marcos on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
