SF State’s Chloe Henning named Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

Chloe Henning of San Francisco State has been selected as the Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, for the week of Sept. 18-25.

Henning recorded 10 total blocks in the Gators’ two victories over the weekend. The sophomore middle blocker played in seven sets to average 1.43 blocks per set. She also chipped in 16 kills (16-0-23, .696), two assists and four digs.

Against Sonoma State on Friday, the West Sacramento product recorded a career-best 12 kills and season-high seven blocks with one solo block. Her .750 attacking percentage ranks fourth best for a single match in the SF State record books. Henning’s seven blocks in a match is just one shy of her career-best.

Henning then added four kills and three blocks versus Cal Poly Humboldt. In all, she accounted for 21.5 points.
San Francisco State has won three straight matches to improve to 7-6.

The Gators will host Cal State LA and Cal State Dominguez Hills this weekend.
