Madison Turner of Cal State San Marcos has been named the Volleyball Setter of the Week, for the week of Sept. 18-25.

Turner recorded 80 assists with 26 digs in leading the Cougars to a pair of road wins at Stanislaus State and Chico State. She averaged 11.43 assists and 3.71 digs per set in seven sets played.

The junior from Carson recorded a season-best 48 assists in Friday’s win at Stan State. She also had 13 digs for a double-double while chipping in three kills and two service aces. Her 48-assist performance ties for second-best on her personal stat sheet. It was her first 40-plus assists match this season.

On Saturday, in Chico, Turner had 32 assists and 13 digs in CSUSM’s straight-set win over the Wildcats.

Cal State San Marcos (5-8), winner of three straight conference contests, travels to Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona this week.
