Stanislaus State’s Kaela Dishion blazed past the field in yet another race as she has been selected as Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, for the week of Sept. 18-25.
At the Cougar Challenge at Cal State San Marcos, Dishion raced to another victory in a time of 20:48.3, for her second win of the season. She holds the course record set last year at the CCAA Championships when she ran a personal all-time best 20:41.7, to capture the CCAA title.
Dishion led a trio of Warriors as the first three finishers at the Cougar Challenge, leading No. 12 Stanislaus State women to a team win with 28 points ahead of Chico State’s 47.
The defending West Region champion from Murphys was the CCAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for Aug. 29-Sept. 4. She was named the USTFCCCA National runner of the week after her win at the Kim Duyst Invitational in week two.
The Warriors will run in the Bronco Invitational at Santa Clara on Oct. 15 as their final regular season competition prior to the CCAA Championships in Carmel, Nov. 5.
