In his first career start, Wait scored a pair of goals, including the back-breaker in a 6-0 win over No. 11 Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday. LA was nursing a 1-0 lead when Wait took advantage of a miscue in the 58th minute and scored unassisted to start a four goals-in-17 minutes barrage that broke the game open. The junior forward also scored the final goal in the blitz to make it 5-0. The Palos Verdes Estates native now leads the No. 1 Golden Eagles with four goals. He is tied for third in the league in goals per game (0.67). As a team, Cal State LA paces the CCAA and ranks second in the country with 3.67 goals and 10.5 points per game. Wait is the second Golden Eagle to earn a CCAA honor this season. He joins teammate Marlon Radel who earned Defensive Player of the Week honors the first week of the season.
