For the second straight week, Cal Poly Pomona’s Daisy Duke is the Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, this time for the week of Sept. 12-18.
In three matches, Duke amassed 39 kills while hitting .395 on the attack to lead the 25th ranked Broncos to three wins, extending their winning streak to 10 matches. Duke had 81 swings with just seven errors to average 3.90 kills per set.
Against Azusa Pacific, in a non-conference match last Tuesday, Duke had 17 kills. The junior opposite side hitter added nine kills with a .615 hitting percentage against Cal Poly Humboldt. Duke closed out the weekend with 13 more spikes versus Sonoma State.
This is Duke’s third consecutive player of the week award after she earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor two weeks ago. She was also the Offensive Player of the Week last week. In all, she now has six CCAA player of the week awards in the last two seasons.
Duke, who is from Rancho Cucamonga, leads the CCAA in two offensive categories with 3.95 kills per set and 4.58 points per set.
Cal Poly Pomona (10-1) will put its 10-match winning streak on the line at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State LA this weekend.
