Chico State's Mackenzie Gill scored a goal and assisted on another to earn the CCAA Offensive Player of the Week award for the week of Sept. 5-11.

The senior forward helped lead the Wildcats to a 2-2 draw versus visiting Azusa Pacific at University Soccer Stadium. Gill delivered a dime of a cross to the top right corner of the six-yard box, where Susanna Garcia waited and then rose to flick the ball on with a head and inside the far post, giving Chico State a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.

The Roseville High School product struck again in the 47th minute, this time finishing the job. Gill outraced a defender and the goalkeeper to Natalie Mendoza's pass near the PK spot and drilled a shot home inside the right post. It was her first goal of the season and her third as a Wildcat. Gill and the Wildcats (now 2-1-2) host Cal Poly Humboldt Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in their final non-conference tilt of the regular season.

It also marks the second time in three weeks in which a Wildcat has been honored as the CCAA Offensive Player of the Week. Sophomore forward Mikayla Robertson won the award the opening week of the season.

Gill and the Wildcats (2-1-2) host Cal Poly Humboldt on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 4:30 p.m. in their final non-conference tilt of the regular season.
