Cal Poly Pomona’s Caitie Mueller has been named the Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week of Sept. 5-11 after a pair of stellar performances.
Mueller totaled 104 assists in two matches on the road as she led the Broncos to a 2-0 start in conference play. The assists total amounts to an impressive 13.0 assists per set. Additionally, Mueller also had 32 digs for 4.0 digs per set.
In Friday’s conference opener at Cal State Monterey Bay, the sophomore from San Clemente dished a career high 55 assists in a 3-1 win over the Otters. The 55-assist total is the most in a match of any length by a CCAA setter this season. Mueller then missed another 50-assist night by one when she recorded 49 assists at San Francisco State Saturday night.
Mueller currently leads the league with a 10.21 assists per set average.
Cal Poly Pomona (7-1) takes its seven-match winning streak into tonight’s home match against Azusa Pacific before a pair of conference matches this weekend.
