Daisy Duke of Cal Poly Pomona picks up CCAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week award

Cal Poly Pomona’s Daisy Duke has won a second consecutive Player of the Week award, this time for her offensive performance for the week of Sept. 5-11.

Duke accumulated 39 kills on 93 attempts with 14 errors for an attacking percentage of .266 to lead the Broncos to a 2-0 conference opening weekend on the road. She also added 20 digs, three total blocks and two aces.

The junior outside hitter posted career highs with 22 kills and 11 digs for her first career double-double in Friday’s 3-1 win at Cal State Monterey Bay. Duke, who is from Rancho Cucamonga, chipped in 17 kills and nine digs in CPP’s 3-1 win at San Francisco State on Saturday.

Last week, Duke was named the CCAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Duke was a three-time player of the week honoree in 2021 when the conference awarded one student-athlete per week.

Cal Poly Pomona, now 7-1 with a seven-match winning streak, will play three home contests this weekend. The Broncos host Azusa Pacific this evening before a pair of conference matches this weekend.
