Cristian Alcantar was the top finisher at the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational, earning the Stan State Warrior the Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, for Sept. 5-11.

Alcantar also led the Stanislaus State men to a team victory under the lights at River Oaks Golf Course in Ceres.

The senior from San Diego raced to the finish in a time of 24:19.3 in the 8K race, out-pacing teammate Medhane Woldu by four seconds.

While the time is not his personal best, it was Alcantar’s best career finish. His previous best was fourth at the 2021 Kim Duyst Invitational when he posted a PR time of 24:06.5.

Stanislaus State races next at the Cougar Challenge in San Marcos on Sept. 24.
