Wildcats sweep women's pole vault, surge ahead in standings

SAN FRANCISCO — The Chico State women's track and field team takes a commanding lead after day two of competition at the CCAA Track & Field Championships at San Francisco State.

With a sweep in the women's pole vault event with three medalists, the Wildcats scored 66 points after five events heading into Saturday's finals. In fact, Chico State scored 33 points with five athletes in the top five spots in the event.

Rebecca Graham was the pole vault champion and was joined by Lara Condosta and Elise Barnum.

Stanislaus State's Kaela Dishion, who won the CCAA women's cross country title in the fall, is the conference champ in the 10,000-meter. Cal State San Marcos' Devin Yarbrough won gold in the women's long jump and Cal Poly Humboldt's Grace Kasberger is the hepthathlon winner.

The championship meet concludes on Saturday with 16 more individulal winners and a team champion to be crowned.
