Cal State East Bay’s Jasmin Krishna has been named the Women’s Golfer of the Week after finishing second twice in a week.
Krishna and the Pioneers played in two tournaments from Friday to Tuesday with the freshman posting two stellar finishes. This is Krishna’s second golfer of the week award during the 2021-22 season.
At the RJGA Palm Valley Classic, April 1-2, in Goodyear, Ariz., Krishna shot a one-under 143 to finish tied for second at the Palm Valley Golf Club. She began the tournament with a 71 on Friday before turning in an even score on Saturday. She tied Gam Songprasert of West Texas A&M and both were six shots behind winner Faith Kilgroe of Colorado Christian.
At the SSU Spring Women’s Invitational, April 4-5, in Santa Rosa, Krishna again finished tied for second, this time with a four-over 148 scorecard. She scored a 73 on Monday before a solid 75 in Tuesday’s final round to end up tied with Holy Names’ Regina Parra. Menlo’s Dasa Urbankova ran away with the event at -7, 137.
Cal State East Bay won the SSU Spring Women’s Invite on Tuesday with a 21-over 597 total, 10 strokes better than Dominican. The Pioneers tied for third in Goodyear.
Krishna was the Women’s Golfer of the Week, for the week of Feb. 23-March 1, when she finished second at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout.
