With three under par scores, Cal State San Bernardino’s Mark Williams was the top CCAA finisher at the Palm Valley Classic, earning him this week’s Men’s Golfer of the Week award.

Williams shot a 7-under 209 for the tournament at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz. He finished third in the event, three shots back of medalist Jake Doggett of Midwestern State.

The sophomore from La Quinta opened on Monday with a round one score of 69, which was the second lowest on the day. He followed with a 70 in the afternoon round before closing out the event with another 70 in Tuesday’s finale.

Cal State San Bernardino tied for sixth in the team standings with a 867 total. The tournament was won by Midwestern State (-20, 844).
