Fraser Owenson of Cal State East Bay has earned this week’s Men’s Golfer of the Week award after finishing second on Tuesday.

Owenson shot a 3-under 141 in the two-round event at Livermore’s Poppy Ridge Golf Course with Northwest Nazarene serving as the host. Owenson was three shots back of individual medalist Keita Okada of Hawaii Pacific, who shot a pair of 69s for a six-under scorecard.

Cal State East Bay won the tournament with a team total of 7-over 583, taking home the trophy ahead of Cal State San Bernardino, which was second at 587.

Owenson, a junior from Nairn, Scotland, scored a 72 on Monday before shooting a tournament tying low-score of 69 on Tuesday.

Next week CSUEB hosts the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, this time at the Corica Park South Course in Alameda, March 14-15.
