Sonoma State Griffin Pace was the top CCAA golfer at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational, earning him this week’s Men’s Golfer of the Week award.
Pace tied for fifth at the event hosted by Stanislaus State at the Turlock Golf and Country Club. Pace shot a four-under 212, one stroke better than fellow CCAA mates Thomas Jenkins of Sonoma State and Stan State’s Brad Sparrer.
The junior from Irvine paced Sonoma State to a 868 team score, good for third place in the standings, tying host Stanislaus State.
Pace opened the 54-hole event on a wet and soggy Monday with 73 in the first round and shot two under 70 for the second round. On Tuesday he finished strong with a 69, the second lowest score of the day. The 69 is Pace’s lowest round of the spring.
