Monica Todd of Cal Poly Pomona is Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Cal Poly Pomona forward Monica Todd led the Broncos to two convincing home victories to help earn this week’s honor as the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, for the week of Feb. 14-20.

Todd averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.5 steals in the wins over Cal Poly Humboldt and Sonoma State. 

In Thursday's 68-57 win vs Humboldt, the senior from San Diego scored 15 points on 7 for 12 shooting (.583 percent), had eight rebounds and six steals. Saturday night, in the Broncos’ 70-53 win over Sonoma State, she scored a game-high 22 points and shot .625 percent (10-for-16) with seven rebounds and nine steals. The nine steals are fifth all-time in Cal Poly Pomona women’s basketball history for a single-game. 

The weekend sweep kept the Broncos alive for a hunt for a CCAA Tournament berth with two games remaining. Cal Poly Pomona (8-14, 7-11 CCAA) ends the regular season with road games at Cal State Monterey Bay and San Francisco State.
