Asia Jordan recorded two double-doubles en route to earning her second CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award, this time for the week of Jan. 24-31.
Jordan averaged 17.5 points and 12 rebounds per game to lead Cal State Dominguez Hills to two road victories. The Toros extended their winning streak to five games while moving up to fourth in the CCAA standings.
Against Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday, the freshman forward from Lakewood, scored 15 points with 12 rebounds, in 24 minutes of play, to lead the Toros. She also recorded two assists and six steals in the game.
Two nights later, at Cal State San Bernardino, Jordan netted 20 points (on 8 of 14 shooting, 57 percent) and pulled 12 rebounds to lead CSUDH. She also had four steals. Jordan made a critical layup in the final seconds of the game against the Yotes to help the Toros secure the win.
Jordan now has seven double-doubles this season and is currently third in the CCAA in rebounding (9.1) and sixth in scoring (14.8). Her field goal percentage (.508) is also CCAA-best.
Jordan was the CCAA player of the week for the week of Dec. 13-20, after posting double-doubles against the same two teams, Cal Poly Pomona and CSUSB.
Cal State Dominguez Hills, now 9-7 overall and 7-4 in the CCAA, hosts Cal State LA and Cal State San Marcos this weekend.
