Joe Wall tied CSUMB’s three-point record to capture Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award

Joe Wall, who caught fire in the second half in Monday’s game, has been selected as Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 12-19.

Wall made eight three-pointers to score 28 points in CSUMB’s win over San Francisco State to help the Otters secure their first CCAA win of the season. Wall was especially sharp in the second half, nailing 7 of 8 from long distance. In all, he was 10-for-18 (56 percent). The junior forward from Portland, Ore., was also just one rebound shy of a double-double. He also added two steals and two blocked shots per game.

Wall’s eight made three-pointers tied a Cal State Monterey Bay program record. He now leads the CCAA in both three-point field goal percentage (.465) and three-pointers made per game (4.4).

The Otters will take time off to enjoy the holidays before concluding their home-and-home series with San Francisco State Saturday, Dec. 31, in The City.
