CCAA kills leader Tamiya Wilson of San Francisco State has received the season’s final Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6.
The true freshman turned-in the most dominant performance of the season by any CCAA player Saturday night in the season finale at Cal State San Bernardino. With the Gators needing a win to secure a tournament berth, Wilson led the team in an epic, instant classic battle against the Yotes as SF State nearly pulled off the upset. The right-side hitter from Temecula smashed 30 kills, the most in a single-match in the conference this season.
Against CSUSB, Wilson was 30-12-71 for a .254 attacking percentage. She also had 10 digs and two blocks with a service ace. The night before, at Cal Poly Pomona, Wilson tallied 10 kills with 12 digs bring her season double-double total to six.
In two matches, she totaled 40 kills, averaged 5.0 kills per set, with 22 digs.
Wilson was awarded the Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 3-9 after a 41-kill weekend. She leads the CCAA with 371 kills, 4.03 kills per set and is second in points at 4.38 per set.
