With a pair of 20-point games, Stanislaus State’s Makayla Rose has been selected as the CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, for the week of Nov. 21-27.
Rose, a freshman guard, averaged 22.50 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game in two contests as the Warriors split their games versus Fresno Pacific and at Chico State.
For the week, the Roseville product tallied 45 points on 17 of 36 shooting from the field (47 percent) and grabbed 11 rebounds with seven steals. She was also 8 for 13 from the charity stripe.
In a home game against Fresno Pacific on Wednesday, she feasted on her short jumpers, nailing 8 of 16 tries and 6 of 10 free throws for her season best 23 points. She also pulled six boards with three steals. In the CCAA opener at Chico State, Rose added another team-best 22 points (9-for-20). She also grabbed five rebounds with four steals.
Stanislaus State hosts a pair of CCAA games this weekend as the Warriors host No. 19 Cal State San Marcos on Thursday and Cal State LA on Saturday.
