CCAA leading scorer Lexi Zandonella-Arasa earns Offensive Player of the Week award Oct 4, 2022 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Sonoma State’s Lexi Zandonella-Arasa was selected as the Pixellot/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 2. Zandonella-Arasa scored three goals and added an assist in a pair of road wins. The sophomore scored the game-winning goal in both contests and now leads the conference in goals, assists, points, and game-winning goals. On Thursday, the Concord native (Carondelet HS) scored the game's first goal with a header in the 85th minute to beat the defending CCAA Tournament Champions, Cal State East Bay. On Saturday against Stanislaus State, she scored the second and third goals and assisted on the fourth as Sonoma State overcame a 2-0 deficit to win 4-2. The midfielder now has 10 goals in 10 matches to go along with five assists. Zandonella-Arasa is the second Sonoma State student-athlete to collect CCAA Offensive Player of the Week honors this season and third overall. She also earned CCAA Player of the Week honors once as a freshman. Click here to see the complete list. The wins moved Sonoma State into a tie for first place with Cal State San Marcos. Both teams are 3-1 after two weeks. The Seawolves will be on the road on Thursday, Oct. 6, to face Cal State Dominguez Hills before returning home to face Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday, Oct. 9.
