Sonoma State setter Jen Trephan named Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

Jen Trephan of Sonoma State turned in two all-around performances last weekend, earning her the honor of Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2.

Trephan, a senior from Thousand Oaks, nearly posted two triple-doubles while tallying 17 kills (17-2-43, .349), 34 assists, 20 digs, six blocks and two service aces to lead SSU to a 2-0 record.

As part of a 6-2 offense, the setter had 12 assists, nine kills and nine digs on Thursday against Chico State. She also had three total blocks with a solo and a service ace against the Wildcats. On Saturday versus Stanislaus State, Trephan recorded 22 assists with eight kills (18 attempts, no errors, .444) and 11 digs for a double-double. She added three blocks with two solos and an ace.

Trephan, a 2021 All-CCAA second team pick, is the only setter in the CCAA top 10 in points with 3.08 points per set. She also ranks ninth with 5.39 assists per set.

Sonoma State will play the home-and-away travel partner weekend matches against Cal Poly Humboldt. Thursday’s match is in Rohnert Park and Saturday at Arcata.
