Otters' Colin O'Mahony earns men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week Oct 4, 2022 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State Monterey Bay’s Colin O’Mahony collected Pixellot/CCAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 2. The junior anchored an Otter defense that pitched its first two shutouts of 2022 in wins over San Bernardino and San Marcos. The Cork, Ireland native capped his weekend by scoring an Olimpico for the match-winner against the Cougars. Over the weekend, Cal State Monterey Bay allowed just eight shots (four on goal) to win the pair of 1-0 games. O’Mahony is the first Cal State Monterey Bay student-athlete to earn a CCAA weekly honor since Walmer Martinez in 2019. Cal State Monterey Bay is now tied for fourth in the CCAA standings at 2-2-0 (4-4-2 overall). The Otters will host San Francisco State on Thursday, Oct. 6, before going on the road to face Sonoma State on Saturday, Oct. 9.
