Stanislaus State’s Nate Jetton had the best week among all CCAA players in Hawaii as he was named the CCAA Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Jetton closed out the five-day, two-tournament on two islands-week with a victory at the Dennis Rose Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii. Earlier in the week, he finished tied for sixth at the HPU Shark Shootout in Wahiawa, Hawaii. The sophomore from El Dorado had the best two-tournament score among all CCAA players with a combined four-round score of 11-under 273.
At the HPU Shark Shootout at Leilehua Golf Course on Oct. 25-26, Jetton carded six-under 138 (71-67) with 10 birdies to finish tied for sixth. He was three shots behind winner and teammate Chris Ebster.
At the Dennis Rose Invitational at Waikoloa Beach Course, Jetton shot 5-under 135 with 68 and tournament low 67 to earn individual medalist honors. He recorded nine birdies to edge out Matthew Moss of Cal State San Marcos by two strokes for his first tournament win.
Stanislaus State tied for first at the HPU Shark Shootout with Chico State taking the team win on tiebreaker. The Warriors were tied for third at the Dennis Rose Invitational.
The Warriors completed their fall schedule and will resume play in the spring in February. Stan State’s schedule is to be announced.
