Kiana Richardson of Sonoma State picked as Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week

Kiana Richardson, who led Sonoma State to two wins over ranked opponents, has been selected as the CCAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 24-30.

Richardson tallied 34 kills (34-14-82, .244 attacking percentage) with 10 digs, four blocks and three aces, to lead the Seawolves to wins over No. 22 Cal Poly Pomona and No. 14 Cal State San Bernardino.

The outside hitter from Lakeport posted 19 kills in the win over the Broncos and smashed 15 kills to help SSU beat CSUSB. Richardson is now sixth in the CCAA with 3.01 kills per set and is fifth with 3.61 points per set. She is also fifth in the league with 250 total kills.

Sonoma State has won four straight matches and has moved into a tie for fourth place at 11-5 in CCAA competition. The Seawolves close out the regular season on the road, at Cal State East Bay and Cal State San Marcos.
