Sandoval Gallo's hat-trick earns her CCAA/Pixellot Offensive Player of the Week Oct 28, 2022 Share: Complete list of weekly winners >>> Cal State Monterey Bay’s Nayeli Sandoval Gallo has been named the CCAA/Pixellot Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 24-27. The senior forward recorded a hat-trick in her final collegiate match and led the Otters to an 8-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills. It was just the third hat-trick for Cal State Monterey Bay sin program history. All three goals for Sandoval Gallo came in the first half as the Otters went into halftime leading 5-0. She notched her first goal in the third minute on an assist from Linda Nigg. She scored two more just 100 seconds apart as she posted goals in the 29th and 30th minutes. The win gave the Otters (7-6-5) back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in program history. Sandoval Gallo finished the season tied for seventh in the CCAA in goals (5) and fifth in assists (5). The Bloomington, Calif., native is the second Otter to earn CCAA/Pixellot Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors in 2022. She joins teammate Amelia McManus who captured the award for the week of Sept. 12-18.
