Cal Poly Pomona’s Paul Henschke was voted the CCAA/Pixellot Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10-16.

Henschke scored four goals on the weekend, including posting the sixth hat-trick in the conference this season.

The Berlin native opened the weekend with a three-goal performance against San Francisco State. He scored his first right before the half and then added two more within 30 seconds of each other midway through the second half in a 4-0 win.

Henschke followed up with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 shutout win against Sonoma State. He helped extend the Broncos’ lead with an assist to Kevin Hernandez in the 35th minute. Hernandez returned the favor five minutes later when he assisted on Henschke’s sixth goal of the season.

The junior is now tied for fourth in the conference in goals (6) and third in points (16). He also ranks fifth in assists (4).

The pair of wins moved Cal Poly Pomona into a tie for first with Cal State Dominguez Hills. Both teams are sitting with 5-0-3 conference records and 18 points.
