Ellison Weaver, who led Stanislaus State to an upset win, has been named the Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 10-16.

Weaver, an outside hitter, put in a career-best performance to lead the Warriors over No. 13 Cal State San Bernardino Saturday night. She had 18 kills and career-best 16 digs with three service aces to help Stan State to its big win. The 18-kill match tied her career-best.

The victory equaled the Warriors’ highest-ranked win since a victory against No. 13 Cal State LA in 2008. 

For the weekend, the redshirt sophomore from Roosevelt, Utah, tallied 32 kills on 89 attempts with eight errors for a .270 attacking percentage. She also totaled 22 digs with three aces, a block and two assists.

Against No. 18 Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, Weaver posted 14 kills with six digs.

Stanislaus State will play its next four matches on the road, first with matches at Cal State East Bay (Thursday) and Cal State San Marcos (Saturday).
