After helping Humboldt State to a big 24-point win on Sunday, Cam Timmons was named the CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, for the shortened-week of Dec. 30-Jan. 2.

Timmons notched a double-double with 18 points and a season-high 10 rebounds in HSU’s 84-60 win over Sonoma State in the teams’ first game after the break.

The 6-foot-11 center from Ashburn, Va., only missed one shot, going 8 of 9 from the field (89 percent shooting) with an assist and a blocked shot.

Timmons leads the Lumberjacks with a 54.9 percent shooting percentage and nine blocked shots. He’s HSU’s second player of the week honoree after Jaden Edwards received the award for Dec. 6-12.

Humboldt State (8-4, 2-4 CCAA) hits the road this weekend with games at No. 11 Cal State San Marcos (Thursday) and Cal State LA (Saturday).
