Humboldt guard Jaden Edwards recorded back to back double-doubles to earn the CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award, for the week of Jan. 17-23.

The junior from Portland, Ore., averaged 15 points and 11.5 rebounds per game for the week in leading the Lumberjacks to road wins over Cal State East Bay and Cal State Dominguez Hills. 

Last Thursday at Cal State East Bay, Edwards tallied 17 points by shooting 58 percent  (7 for 12) with three three-pointers. He also grabbed 11 rebounds with a steal and two assists. Saturday at Cal State Dominguez Hills, Edwards scored 13 more points (5 for 12) with 12 rebounds and a steal plus three assists.

Edwards now has eight double-doubles this season. He is fourth in the CCAA in scoring (16.7 ppg) and second in rebounding (9.8 rpg).

The Lumberjacks next take on No. 7 Chico State at home on Thursday before hosting Stanislaus State Saturday.
