Cal State San Bernardino’s Brandon Knapper continues to make his case as one of the top players in the CCAA as he has been named the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, for the week of Dec. 13-20.
This is the third time Knapper has received this honor this season.
Knapper led the 12th-ranked Yotes to two more victories by averaging 23.5 points per game. CSUSB posted wins over Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State East Bay to improve to 10-1 overall and 4-1 in league play.
The junior guard’s biggest bucket came in the overtime win over CSUDH as his buzzer-beating three-pointer gave the Yotes a 96-95 win last Thursday. He finished with 20 points against the Toros.
Two nights later, Knapper scored 27 points on 9 of 18 shooting (3 of 6 from the three-point arc) to lift his team over Cal State East Bay, 92-80, on the road. He also had three rebounds and three assists plus a steal against the Pioneers.
Knapper has scored 20 or more points in eight consecutive games. He leads the CCAA with 24.2 points per game and 3.9 three-pointers per contest.
Cal State San Bernardino returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 2, at Cal Poly Pomona before hosting a pair of games the following weekend.
