Cal State LA’s Nicole Flennaugh was selected as CCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 6-12.

Flennaugh powered the Golden Eagles to two road victories and into fifth place in the CCAA standings (3-2), averaging 23 points for the week.

The sophomore guard began the weekend with 12 points against San Francisco State before exploding for a career-high 34 points against Cal State Monterey Bay. In the contest, the 2019-20 CCAA Freshman of the Year hit 11-of-23 shots, including nine three-pointers.

The 34 points and nine made three-pointers are both the top performances in the CCAA during the 2021-22 campaign. The nine treys also broke the Cal State LA program record.

The Portland native now holds the top 3 spots, and four of the top 5, for most three-pointers made in a game by a CCAA student-athlete this year. Flennaugh leads the nation in three-pointers made per game (4.67). She is also second in the CCAA in scoring (18.3 ppg).

Cal State LA will close out the 2021 calendar year by hosting Central Washington on Monday, Dec. 20. After a holiday hiatus, the Golden Eagles will begin play again on Jan. 2 against Cal State San Marcos.

Also Nominated:
Kyanna Davis, Stanislaus State
Akayla Hackson, Cal State San Marcos
