Alexis Cardoza continues to dominate opponents as the two-time All-American earns her eighth career CCAA Volleyball Player of the Week award.
Cardoza led Cal State San Bernardino to two more victories, as the Yotes ran their winning streak to 17 matches with 3-0 wins over Cal State San Marcos and Cal State East Bay.
The senior outside hitter from Chino Hills put-away 35 kills with a .409 attacking percentage in six sets for 5.83 kills per set. She also had 16 digs and an assisted block to account for 37.5 points.
Against Cal State San Marcos on Thursday, Cardoza had 18 kills on 35 swings (4 errors, .400) and six digs. Then on Saturday at Cal State East Bay, she had a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs.
Cardoza leads the CCAA, and is 17th in Division II, with 4.01 kills per set. She also leads the conference with 4.54 points per set.
Cal State San Bernardino, which extended its conference-winning streak to 37 matches, moved up to No. 3 in the latest AVCA coaches poll. During the streak, CSUSB is 111-9 in set scores.
Earlier this season, Cardoza won consecutive player of the week honors for Oct. 4-10 and Oct. 11-17.
The Yotes will have a busy week to close out the regular season with a make-up road match at Sonoma State on Tuesday before hosting a pair this weekend.
