Jalyn Hayes of Cal State San Bernardino helped keep the Coyotes undefeated in CCAA play as she’s been named the Volleyball Player of the Week, for week of Sept. 27-Oct. 3.

Hayes averaged three kills per set and posted a .516 hitting percentage to lead 12th ranked CSUSB to victories over Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State LA. CSUSB is the lone undefeated team during conference play at 6-0 (11-3 overall). 

In two matches, the middle blocker had 18 kills on 31 attempts with just two errors. Defensively the junior from San Bernardino added five blocks with three digs.

Friday against CSUDH, Hayes had four kills (.500 hitting percentage) with a dig and a block. At Cal State LA, Hayes posted 14 kills on 25 tries with just one error (.520) as Yotes handed the Golden Eagles’ their first loss on home court.

Hayes currently ranks 11th in NCAA Division II with a .418 hitting percentage, a CCAA best.

Cal State San Bernardino hosts Cal State Monterey Bay and San Francisco State next weekend.
