Cal Poly Pomona's Ramirez is Men's Soccer Player of the Week for second time

With another three-goal performance, Jerry Ramirez of Cal Poly Pomona has been tabbed as the CCAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 18-24.

Ramirez, who led the Broncos to another undefeated weekend, tallied three goals and an assist to help his team extend its winning streak to six matches.

At Cal State Monterey Bay, the junior forward scored both goals in the 2-0 win on Friday. In Sunday’s win at No. 13 Cal State Dominguez Hills, Ramirez assisted on the first goal and netted the final score in the upset 3-0 win.

Ramirez has now scored eight goals with two assists in the last five matches in just 184 minutes of play. He is fourth in the CCAA in scoring with eight goals, tied for fifth with 18 points and is tied for third with two game-winning goals.

The Bronco from Corona was the player of the week, for the week of Oct. 4-10. He was also a nominee last week.

Cal Poly Pomona, which hasn’t allowed a goal in five-plus matches, will host Humboldt State on Friday and Chico State on Sunday.
