Nathan Garcia of Cal State Monterey Bay led the Otters in the final regular season event to earn a Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week nod, for the week of Oct. 11-17.

Garcia finished the 8K race in the open division of the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale. The junior from El Centro clocked in a 25:52.7 as the team leader.

The Otters came in third behind a club team from Cal Poly and St. Mary’s College. CSUMB was ahead of a number of club teams, Division II and III programs and one DI team.

Garcia was the third Division II runner to finish behind Dominican’s Jared Wright (24:45.2) and Logan McNamar of Holy Names (25:46.5).

The Otters will join the rest of the conference teams this weekend at the CCAA Championships at Cal State San Marcos. The men’s 8K race is at 10 a.m. Live broadcast of the championships is available on the CCAANetwork at CCAANetwork.com.
