Brenda Uribe, who led Cal State Monterey Bay to a weekend sweep, has been named the CCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, for the week of Oct. 4-10.
The Otters shutout Chico State on Friday, as part of CSUMB’s first ever men’s and women’s soccer sweep over the Wildcats, and blanked Humboldt State on Sunday.
The senior midfielder from East Palo Alto assisted on two of the three goals in a 3-0 win against Chico State and scored the second goal in the 2-0 win over Humboldt State.
Uribe became the program’s 10th player to pass two assists in a match.
Uribe is just the second CSUMB Otter to win a player of the week award in women’s soccer. Alyssa Noh was a two-time winner with the most recent in 2017.
Cal State Monterey Bay is at San Francisco State on Thursday before hosting No. 13 Sonoma State on Sunday.
