As the top CCAA finisher at the Bill Roe Classic in Washington, Chico State’s Hannah Ryan has earned the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award, for the week of Oct. 4-10.
Ryan placed 13th overall, and was the eighth collegiate finisher, at the meet hosted by Western Washington. She clocked in at 22:38.1 in the 6K run.
A sophomore from San Francisco, Ryan was among the large group of Wildcats to lead the Chico State women to a third place showing on the team standings. Simon Fraser won the team title and Club Northwest was second.
The 14th-ranked Wildcats competed without two of their top performers thus far this season, Katie Hawley and Hannah Wirth.
Ryan had been in the top 13 in all three of her races this season. She was 12th in both the San Francisco State Invitational and the Cougar Challenge in San Marcos, each time as the third Chico runner.
Saturday’s race marked the Wildcats' final postseason tune-up. They'll attempt to win their 13th consecutive CCAA title on Oct. 23 on the campus of Cal State San Marcos.
