After stellar weekends in the circle and at the plate, Alyssa Olague of Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State San Bernardino’s Haley Finn have been selected as CCAA Pitcher and Player of the Week for Feb. 10-16, respectively.

Olague, a junior from Whittier, went 1-1 with a save against the preseason picks to repeat as CCAA champions, UC San Diego. She tossed 16 innings in her three appearances, tallying 10 strikeouts with an ERA of 1.31.

Olague came in relief in the series opener, pitching the last four frames in a nine-inning contest to earn the win, which came in walkoff fashion. She came in relief once again in game two, throwing the final three innings and limiting the Tritons to just one hit, to earn her second save of the season. In the series finale, she threw nine innings and shut out UCSD for the first eight before giving up two. The two sides split the series, with the Toros claiming both on Friday before the Tritons took two on Saturday in Carson.

For Finn, the bat came alive from the outset of the series against Cal State San Marcos. The senior from Riverside hit .636 with a 1.273 slugging percentage with five RBI and four extra-base hits. The first baseman also recorded 24 putouts from her perch in the field.

In the series opener, Finn tripled down the right field line in the second inning, then scored on a wild pitch . She blasted her first home run of the season in the fourth inning of a 13-4 decision. After dropping Friday’s nightcap, Finn and the Coyotes came back to take both games on Saturday. Finn crossed home plate twice in the 11-3 finale, walking three times and recording a hit in the bottom of the sixth.

Both the Coyotes and Toros take to the road this weekend. Cal State Dominguez Hills heads north to face off against San Francisco State, while Cal State San Bernardino stays closer to home to take on Cal State San Marcos. Both four-game sets are slated to start Friday at noon.
