After pacing UC San Diego to a pair of road wins, Triton sophomore Julia Macabuhay has been tapped for CCAA Player of the Week for Jan. 6-12, her second weekly award of the season.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Macabuhay averaged 19.6 points on 61.9 percent shooting to go along with 3.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals as UC San Diego defeated Stanislaus State and Humboldt State.

UC San Diego bested the Warriors by 20 points on Thursday, as Macabuhay contributed 15 to the cause. In Saturday's 88-82 win over the Jacks, Macabuhay scored a game-high 24 points to help UC San Diego to its highest point total in a single game this season. She connected on 8-of-11 from the floor, including a 3-of-4 effort from beyond the arc in Arcata. This marked Macabuhay's fifth 20-point game of the season.

Spirit Night is up next for UC San Diego, with the Tritons playing host to Cal Poly Pomona Thursday at 5:30 p.m., in a rematch of the 2018-19 CCAA Tournament finals. UC San Diego will be looking to avenge a 69-61 road loss to the Broncos suffered on Dec. 22, to split the regular-season series.

UC San Diego stays home Saturday, welcoming Cal State San Bernardino, also slated for a 5:30 p.m. tip. Both games will be televised on ESPN3.
