Jacob Nabs Season's First Golfer of the Week Award

Defending NCAA Division II Women’s Golf individual champion Jaime Jacob picked up right where she left off - winning.

Jacob has been named CCAA Golfer of the Week for Sept. 18-24, the first award of the 2019-20 season. This is Jacob's eighth weekly conference award in her already-decorated collegiate career.

The senior from Encinitas fired a 68-72–140 (-4) at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz., to win the title and lead Cal State San Marcos to team victory as well. Jacob, back-to-back CCAA champion, jumped out to a hot start with five birdies in her opening round and remained atop the standings throughout the tournament.

With Jacob leading the way, the Cougars topped the team standings by 13 strokes with fellow CCAA team Sonoma State tying with Point Loma for runner-up honors. 

Cal State San Marcos returns to the links Sept. 30-Oct. 1 for the Dixie State Fall Invitational in Hurricane, Utah.
