After coming away with a tie for the runner-up position and a team victory, Sonoma State's Griffin Pace and Devin Gregg have earned co-CCAA Golfer of the Week for Sept. 11-17.

Pace, a freshman from Irvine, turned in three steady rounds at the Sonoma State Fall Invitational, closing with a 71-74-74–219 in his first collegiate tournament. His consistent play was highlighted by 44 pars over the course of the two-day tournament, and an eagle on the 36th, closing out the first day of the action from Rooster Run.

Hailing from San Anselmo, Gregg carded 12 birdies to claim the Day 1 lead, which the field finished as the sun had set in Petaluma. He started off his senior campaign with a double bogey, but rallied after the first hole of the event to put together an opening round 69 to vault to the top of the leaderboard in a tie for the low round of the tournament.

The pair was edged by one stroke by Zachary McClure of Holy Names, who compiled a 218 to take individual honors. In the team standings, Sonoma State jostled with Chico State for the top of the table, but eased to a 10-stroke victory over the sixth-ranked Wildcats after 54 holes on the course.

The Seawolves enjoy a break in the fall action, next hitting the course Oct. 14-15 at the Sierra Central Wildcat Classic, hosted by Chico State at Butte Creek Country Club.
