Four Goals, Two Game-Winners, Net Weekly Award for Patterson
With a pair of multi-goal games on the week, San Francisco State sophomore forward Katelyn Patterson has been named CCAA Player of the Week for Sept. 9-15.
The Torrance product and first-year transfer out of Cal State Fullerton tallied four goals, including two game-winners, in a pair of comfortable home victories by the Gators.
Patterson contributed a two-goal brace in a 3-1 decision over Academy of Art on Wednesday afternoon. Her first goal wearing purple and gold came in the 60th minute to begin the scoring, before she added what proved to be the winner just 2:39 later.
Patterson managed to add a second double in a 4-1 triumph over Notre Dame de Namur on Friday evening. After an 18th-minute opener by the visitors, the early CCAA Newcomer of the Year favorite equalized in the 33rd. Following the halftime interval, Patterson collected her second decider just before the hour mark.
Patterson now leads the CCAA with her four goals and eight total points from last week.
At 2-1-1 overall, San Francisco State preps for its final tune-up heading into CCAA activity this Saturday, as the Gators welcome Pacific West Conference contender Azusa Pacific into Cox Stadium for a noon kickoff.
