Hartwell Races to Weekly Acclaim in First Outing for Humboldt State Sep 10, 2019 After claiming team and individual titles in her first collegiate race, Hannah Hartwell has been named the season’s first CCAA Runner of the Week in 2019. The freshman from Carlsbad, captured the 6,000 meter Humboldt Invitational with a time of 22:54.44 to lead the 'Jacks to the team title in the four-team race. She won the race by 30 seconds, easily besting the field of 53 runners in the course preview of the 2019 CCAA Cross Country Championships at Baywood Golf & Country Club. Hartwell is now the fourth Humboldt State woman to earn CCAA Cross Country Runner of the Week status since its creation in 2006. “Hannah really did well today,” remarked head coach Jamey Harris after the victorious effort. “She wasn't feeling 100%, but she's tough. She's Humboldt." Humboldt State will return to the cross country course on Sept. 20 in Monmouth, Ore., when the Jacks participate in the Sundowner Invitational on the campus of Western Oregon University at Ash Creek Preserve.
