Cougar Khalil Fuller Prized with Weekly Accolades Mar 5, 2019 After averaging a double-double to close out the regular season, Cal State San Marcos junior Khalil Fuller has earned the final CCAA Player of the Week award of the year, for Feb. 25-March. 3. Spurred by the Moreno Valley native’s scoring and rebounding, the Cougars played a pivotal role in dashing the champion hopes of Cal State East Bay Thursday, posting a team-leading seventh double-double of the season with a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds to turn back the Pioneers. He kept up the energy in the Cal State San Marcos season finale against the Otters by scoring a game-high 27 points to go along with a game-high nine rebounds. All told, Fuller shot 60 percent (18-of-30) from the floor and went 14-of-16 from the free throw line to average 25 points and 11 rebounds per game to close his junior season. Although the Cougars are done playing in 2018-19, eight league squads - including No. 3 seeded Cal State East Bay - open the postseason today in the CCAA Tournament quarterfinals, hosted on campus sites.
