Junior forward Taylor Scott struck for two more goals in a pair of home wins for No. 22 Cal Poly Pomona, and came away with her second CCAA Player of the Week recognition for Oct. 28-Nov. 3.

The Santa Clarita product found the back of the net twice in Friday’s 5-0 victory over Cal State East Bay. Scott opened the scoring with what proved to be her fifth decider at 14:00, and then extended the Broncos’ advantage to 3-0 in the 55th minute. She matched her season high of five shots, with three on target and both totals game highs. Scott started again in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat of Cal State Monterey Bay, directing both of her shot attempts on frame.

Friday marked Scott’s second career two-goal brace, both coming this season, as she paces both Cal Poly Pomona and the CCAA with career highs of 10 goals and 24 total points. Scott has started all 17 matches for the Broncos thus far in 2019, and is also tied for the league lead with her five game-winning strikes.

Cal Poly Pomona (12-3-2, 8-1-2 CCAA, 2.36 points per match) has already clinched not just a 2019 CCAA Women's Soccer Tournament berth, but the No. 3 seed, and thus a first-round home date on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The Broncos round out the regular season at 13th-ranked league leader Sonoma State this Wednesday at 3 p.m. The Broncos are a remarkable 7-0-2 over their last nine contests, outscoring opponents 16-1 during this late-season stretch.
