After capping the regular-season with a dominant effort, UC San Diego senior Jessica Rieble has earned CCAA Player of the Week for Nov. 11-17, the final installment of the 2019 campaign.

For Rieble, a middle blocker from Pleasanton, the honor is her third of the year, and her career.

The Tritons closed their conference schedule with just one match, earning a 3-1 victory at Cal State San Marcos to clinch the third spot in the conference volleyball tournament. Rieble keyed the victorious effort with match highs of 16 kills and 21 points in the contest. Ranked 6th nationally with her .414 hitting percentage entering the match, she swung at a .458 clip against the Cougars and is now hitting .417 on the season heading into the postseason. Rieble also added three aces, three blocks, four digs, and an assist for UC San Diego to usher the squad into postseason play.

The 2019 CCAA Volleyball Tournament is slated to take place Nov. 21-23 at the home of No. 1 seed and No. 1 team in the nation for the 10th-straight week, Cal State San Bernardino, and UC San Diego will be competing on the opposite side of the bracket as the Coyotes as the No. 3 seed. The Tritons’ first test comes Saturday against North Division opponent and No. 6 seed Sonoma State to open the quarterfinals action at noon. In their regular-season meeting, the Seawolves handed UC San Diego a 3-1 loss on Oct. 24, their only blemish out of division in conference play.
