Stanislaus State’s Selia Torres provided two goals, including a decider, in a pair of road wins to garner CCAA Player of the Week honors for Sept. 30-Oct. 6.

The senior forward out of San Lorenzo produced two of the Warriors’ three goals on the weekend. Torres notched the seventh-minute opener in Friday’s 2-1 victory at San Francisco State. She then accounted for the 48th-minute lone winner in Sunday’s 1-0 decision at Humboldt State. Torres deposited sophomore teammate and strike partner Skyler Hoy’s cross into the upper right corner of the target.

Of Torres’ five shots over the two contests, a season-high three came on Friday. She is tied for second on the team’s goals chart with three, behind Hoy’s four.

Stanislaus State thus improved to 8-1 overall and 3-1 in CCAA play, currently in a two-way tie for third with Chico State at nine points apiece. The Warriors have won three straight overall, as they’ve opened conference action with four road dates.

The Warriors finally contest their CCAA home opener against Cal State San Bernardino in primetime this Friday night at 7 p.m., and then will welcome in Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday afternoon. Stanislaus State is a perfect 3-0 so far in Turlock in 2019.
