2019 Standings: Men | Women
Due to Public Safety Power Shutoff events and intense wildfires that have again plagued the state of California and forced cancellation of recent soccer matches between conference opponents, the CCAA will revise its procedure for men’s and women’s soccer standings and seedings for the 2019 season.

Rather than its standard procedure of utilizing total points for CCAA soccer standings and postseason tournament seedings, the Executive Council Steering Committee has approved utilization of an average points per match calculation to determine team placement in the conference standings.

“Our state is once again facing extreme challenges and those have affected our schools ability to get all of their scheduled contests in,” explained CCAA commissioner Mitch Cox. “The safety of our student-athletes, our coaches and their staffs, however, is paramount. Our schools have worked together in a cooperative manner to get the games in while understanding the challenges that are in front of them.”

This methodology was also employed in 2017, after much discussion about the options of winning percentage versus average points per match. At that time, the decision was made to move forward with average points per match to both mesh the tradition of points in soccer, but also providing value for points earned for ties. The non-precedent setting determination from two seasons ago has again become the most viable option to calculate the 2019 standings.

Thus far, contests between Sonoma State and Cal State San Marcos previously slated to take place on Oct. 27 were unable to be played, and also unable to be rescheduled. With continued extreme circumstances across the state and just two weeks remaining of the regular season, the solution of calculating soccer standings using average points per match will account for both previous and any potentially future cancelled contests in the calculations.

The top six teams for both genders advance to the 2019 CCAA Soccer Tournament bracket. First-round games will be played on campus sites on Tuesday, Nov. 12. UC San Diego’s Triton Soccer Stadium will play host to the semifinal and final rounds, slated for Nov. 15 and 17. The men’s and women’s tournament victor each earn automatic berths into the NCAA Soccer Championship brackets.

With the new calculations the current men’s and women’s soccer standings are as follows:
